
Excalibur Research Development & Manufacturing is seeking a reliable Shop Hand / Packaging & Shipping Associate to support daily manufacturing operations. This role focuses on packaging finished metal products, preparing shipments, maintaining shop organization, and assisting production and assembly as needed in a fast-paced sheet-metal fabrication environment.
DUTIES

Package finished metal parts and assemblies using appropriate materials (cardboard, honeycomb, foam, pallets, strapping, etc.)

Prepare shipments for freight carriers, including labeling, basic counting and documentation

Assist with loading and unloading materials and finished goods

Perform visual inspection of parts prior to packaging to ensure they meet quality standards

Maintain clean and organized packaging, shipping, and shop areas

Ability to operate hand tools and equipment safely

Follow all safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements

Assist machine operators, welders, and fabrication staff as directed
Work efficiently to meet production schedules while maintaining quality standards
Perform other shop-related duties as assigned

Ability to work in a manufacturing or shop environment

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, bend, and perform repetitive tasks

Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions

Reliable attendance and punctuality

Nice-to-Have Skills

Previous manufacturing, welding or shop experience

Forklift experience (or willingness to become certified)

Experience with measuring tools (tape measure, calipers)

Basic knowledge of sheet metal fabrication

COMPENSATION
$17.00–$22.00 per hour, based on experience.
Performance-based wage increases available after the introductory period and skill development. Cross-training opportunities and advancement into other areas of the shop are encouraged.
